Add, Edit, or Delete a Custom Table Widget

Adding a Widget

When you add a new custom table widget, it will display “Report Widget – Invalid Table ID”. This is okay, because the text will change once it has been configured.

When you go into the configuration mode, you will see a setting for TableID. This value will be blank. The parameter name TableID is a link to the Report Table Editor.

If you have a custom table that has already been configured on another dashboard and you want to display it on this dashboard, then get the TableID value and enter it here.

The TableID can be directly accessed from the Dashboard Edit screen, by clicking the Table icon (see screenshot). This navigates directly to the “Report Table Editor” admin page. If the “Table ID” field in the widget configuration is configured with a table id, then the table icon will open that tables configuration in the “Report Table Editor”.

For new tables that are being configured from scratch, when you click on the TableID, configure, and save the settings, an ID will automatically be generated and displayed in this box. Each ID generated is unique.

When you click on the TableID link, the Report Table Editor page will open.

New Custom Table – TableID

When you add a new custom table, the Report Table Editor will show "New" fro the Table ID.

After the initial save, a new TableID number will be generated. This will be a unique number. The new number will be displayed in the TableID box.

Editing a Custom Table from the Widget

For existing custom tables when the user goes into configuration mode, you will see the TableID has a value.

Note: This custom table has a unique ID of 32. Users can re-use this widget on another dashboard by entering 32 as the TableID.

Clicking on the TableID link will open up the Report Table Editor and the existing settings will be displayed.

Deleting a Custom Table

Currently you can only remove a Custom Table from the Report Table Editor.

Menu – Custom Table

The Report Table Editor can also be launched from the Menu by selecting the Report Table Editor option. This will only be visible if the user has the correct permissions.

Accessing the Report Table Editor from the menu will open up a blank editor, from which a new custom table can be created.

This option can be used if editing a number of reports, however users would require to know the TableIDs of the reports to be edited.
